U.S ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson visited a number of poll stations in Giza on Saturday morning to monitor the voting process.
Patterson praised the democratic phase Egypt is going through, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.
Patterson said she did not detect stark violations or irregularities.
The ambassador visited Om al-Abtal, Othman Ibn Affan and Hafez Ibrahim poll stations in addition to several others.
