Egypt: SPEC Dismisses 254 Votes From South Africa's Pretoria

The Supreme Presidential Elections Commission (SPEC) dismissed 254 votes of expatriates in South Africa's Pretoria, Hatem Bagato, Secretary General of the commission, stated.

After elimination, the number of valid votes in Pretoria is 205 votes.

"Mursi secured 148 votes while Shafiq got 57 votes after sorting ballots in Pretoria," the Middle East News Agency (MENA) quoted Bagato as saying.

At a meeting to discuss a number of ballots from Egypt's esbassy in Pretoria, Bagato said this decision was taken after "a number of voters were forced to vote for a certain candidate. This invalidates their votes from the commission's standpoint."
