South Africa: LP Gas Users Urged to Stock Up On Supplies

Pretoria — LP Gas users have been called on to refill or stock up on supplies as the cold weather intensifies.

In a statement on Monday the Energy Department, in partnership with the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Industry, encouraged LP Gas users to stock-up.

"Users are also reminded to avoid shortages caused by spikes in demand during the winter months. LPG is currently readily available across the country and users are urged to go and refill or stock up to cover their medium term needs," it said.

While there are no planned refinery shutdowns to take place over the winter period, there could be unforeseen technical problems at the refineries which might result in unplanned shutdowns and impact the production of LPG.
