I would not like to start by observing the challenges associated by coalition governments but by commenting this effort and saying it is for all of us in Lesotho to work towards making it a success.

This in itself marks a growth in the National Politics of Lesotho that has been characterised one party governments where the opposition has always been known to challenge the election results.

The strength of this kind of a government is bringing on board different levels of expertise and experience into government to foster National development.

This can mostly work where the newly appointed executive cast aside issues of party discipline and work as a National cabinet in the discharge of their duties-this is going to be difficult but not impossible. It calls upon a strong leadership that will always remind everyone the lines between party and National leadership. Most importantly will be effective communication and engagement in National issues, bringing in different party line differences for the service as a Nation.

The onus is also on the Basotho Nation in supporting this new government by holding it accountable but not serving to well up divisionist party differences.

In conclusion, ideologically these parties are no different which should make it easier to work together. But they only need to guard against the common enemy of Man, 'Power Thirst'!
