Sierra Leone: UBA Staff Flex Muscles for Energy

All works and no play makes Jack a dull boy, says the Brand and Corporate Communications Officer of the United Bank for Africa UBA during a light and fun-filled physical exercise for staff of the bank to get more energy last Saturday.

Estella Mambu told Concord Times that 'Jogging to bond', which started from Aberdeen Road to Njala Venue, a resort centre along Lumley beach to Natalie Cole, is conducted quarterly in 19 countries worldwide by UBA to bring staff together for better familiarization and to have fun with one another.

"After a hectic period of searching for and attending to numerous customers, it is our tradition as an institution to quarterly conduct light physical exercise for our staff. The jogging bond is conducted to bring staff together to stretch their muscles and to familiarize with one another in jolly mood," she said.

She maintained that staff members always enjoy the exercise which includes jogging, playing football and performing aerobics and it goes with lots of fun that helps to stretch their muscles and strengthen their blood vessels.

"We enjoy the exercise a lot," a staff said. "This is the only opportunity for some of us to visit our beaches and share lots of fun with colleagues."

He commended the bank for providing such an opportunity, noting that it was difficult for most individuals to take up the task.
