Sierra Leone: Skye Bank Makes Funds Transfer Easier

In three months after launching its African Payment Service in Nigeria, The Gambia, Guinea and Sierra Leone where it operates, Skye Bank Sierra Leone has made the transfer of funds more convenient for its customers.

The African Payment Service was introduced by Skye Bank to boost trade and facilitate payment in the West African sub region. This service is opened to both account and non-account holders and it is convenient, secure, cost effective, fast and reliable and has an enhanced security of transfer code via the use of scratch cards.

Alhaji Lamrana Barrie who is a frequent user of the service said; "I have been finding it difficult to transfer money to my business partners in Guinea and vice-versa. But the day I tried Skye Bank's African Payment Service, I find it convenient, cost effective, fast and have boosted my business."

Kenneth Onyeyi who trades in motor spare parts and electrical goods commented that the growth of his business has improved sharply after using the service.

"I have no headache in using the service and anytime I send money to my business partners in Nigeria to buy goods, it is done effectively with ease," he said.

Mohamed Jabbie also expressed similar sentiments saying even though he is not an account holder at the bank, he has enjoyed transferring money to The Gambia for both business and personal purposes.

"The service is beneficial not only to business people, but to non-business people. The risk associated with physical carrying of cash has reduced drastically. Also, the possibility of theft and harassments by border guards will be eliminated through the service," he noted.

Though a dollar-denominated service, the African Payment Service is devoid of exchange rate volatility and does not attract hidden charges.

Apart from this service, Skye Bank also offers exciting products like Skye Money Wise and Skye Rainbow.

The Skye Wise offers the individual the benefits of both the savings and current account with the use of non-clearing cheque book, whiles the Skye Rainbow or Children banking has benefits like third party withdrawals, on line banking facility, issuance of cheques, dividend warrants and other forms of third party payments which is designed with special features that benefit parents seeking to save for their children's education and other needs.
