Flamingos for making Nigeria proud by qualifying for all available women tournaments in the globe this year. "We have only plaudits for the women's teams. Last year, the Super Falcons did not qualify for the All-Africa Games and the 2012 Olympics and we all felt bad, but they have been able to lift themselves up with the support of the Federation and have done Nigeria
proud by qualifying in style for the 2012 African Women Championship. "The Falconets have also qualified for this year's FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan and the Flamingos are among the finalists for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan. We are very proud of them. "The Super Eagles have also been doing well. Presently, Nigeria is top of her group in the qualifying series for the 2014 FIFA
World Cup Brazil and we are through to the final round qualification series for 2013 African Cup of Nations. "Surely, there's still a lot of work to be done each way and the important thing is for the players to continue to do their bit, be focused and take pride in wearing the nation's colours. As for the NFF, we will continue to give the teams all the necessary support and motivation to conquer at international level." The NFF boss dismissed insinuations in some quarters that the Executive Committee and Management have little regard forthe women's game. "This assumption is not correct. We have no reason to hold women's football in disdain. Generally, women's teams have brought a lot of honour to this country. It is on record that on assumption of office, this administration had the performance of the Falconets at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Germany to celebrate, and few months later, the Super Falcons won the African Women Championship trophy in South Africa. "We are very close to improving the win-bonus and general welfare of the women's teams, have appointed a high-calibre Coach to
rebuild the Super Falcons and give guidance to the other women' teams, and also, for the first time, the Head Coach of Falcons is on a respectable monthly salary and rides a very presentable official car,"said Maigari. The Super Eagles will on July 5 know their opponents for the final round of qualification series for the 2013 African Cup of Nations, when the Confederation of African Football holds the draw in Johannesburg.
