Makurdi — Former Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has accused security agencies of conniving to destroy evidence in the case of bribe taking against the former chairman of the House of Reps Committee on Subsidy, Farouk Lawan.

Speaking in Makurdi yesterday, the former police boss noted that the procedure in laying bait for an accused person in a case of bribery where marked money is involved is to arrest the suspect in the act and recover the money on the spot.

"That our security agencies failed to do so, is deliberate and a conspiracy to destroy evidence material to the charge and save Lawan from successful prosecution. Filming of the incident alone cannot provide the required evidence to sustain conviction", he said.

Tsav maintained that charging Farouk Lawan to court without production of the monetary exhibit would be a waste of time.

"Security agencies know this, but they deliberately allowed Lawan to go with the money", he said.
