Somalia: Roadmap Signatories Meet in Neighboring Kenyan Capital

Nairobi — Signatories of the Roadmap are today meeting in Nairobi, Kenyan capital, with officials from Somali government, Puntland, Galmudug, Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a (ASWJ) and the UN political Office for Somalia (UNPOS).

Delegates at The meeting are scheduled to talk about the progress of ending the Transitional Government of Somalia by the end of next August.

Transitional Federal Government (TFG) President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Gaas, Speaker of Parliament Sharif Hassan Sharif Adan, Galmudug President Mohamed Ahmed Alim, Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole and Ahlu Sunnah, UN envoy for Somalia Augustine Mahiga are attending the meet inNairobi.

Reliable Sources at the meeting indicate that the current top Somali government officials were put on pressure not to compete for the upcoming presidential elections of Somalia 20 August in 2012.
