Ndalatando — The Angolan Home Affairs minister, Sebastião Martins, Wednesday in Ndalatando, northern Kwanza Norte province, ordered a study for the setting up of a second Road Accident Prevention Unit in the region.

The minister was speaking at the inauguration of the "Morro do Binda" Road Accident Prevention and Aid Unit that comprises a multi-disciplinary infrastructure to respond to the needs of accidents prevention and traffic security.

Morro do Binda (Binda Hill) is considered one of the main black spots on the National Road 230, between the provinces of Luanda and Malanje, given its 10 percent inclination.

Sebastião Martins explained that the inauguration of the said unit was taking place at a time drivers were using more an alternative road that branches in the locality of Zenza do Itombe, through Golungo-Alto municipality, thus avoiding the National Road 230.

He said the inauguration of a road accident prevention unit in Kwanza Norte is part of Angolan Government's strategies to create infrastructures that contribute to reduce accidents and aid casualties.
