The Sierra Leone female volleyball team has gotten off to a good start in the ongoing EconomicCommunity of West African States (ECOWAS) Games with a three straight set winover Niger in their opening match.
In athletics, both the maleand female teams representing the country secured their first medals as theyclinched the bronze in the 4X100 meters.
According to the leader ofdelegation for Team Sierra Leone, Unisa Deen Kargbo, the female U-23 team wasable to defeat Niger in three straight sets: 25-14, 25-11 and 25-16. Kargbofurther revealed that the team will now face Ivory Coast in their next match.
He said both the male andfemale athletics teams were able to secure bronze medals in the 4X100m relay; thefirst medals for the country in the Games.
