Port Harcourt — The Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway was yesterday blocked by petrol tanker drivers by abandoning over 50 trucks along the ever busy road after soldiers from the 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army impounded 14 trucks for allegedly operating at an odd hour.
The tanker drivers, who blocked the expressway in solidarity with their affected members, vowed not to clear the road until the 14 arrested members were released and items seized from them were also returned.
They alleged that some of the military men manhandled their members, seizing their handsets and waybills before arresting them based on suspicion that they were conveying illegal petroleum products.
