Nigeria: JTF Arrests BIU Church Attackers

Maiduguri — The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Borno State yesterday said six suspected members of the Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati Wal Jihad, also known as Boko Haram who carried out attack on the Eklisiyyar Yan'uwa in Nigeria (EYN) in Biu about two weeks ago have been arrested.

Daily Trust recalled that worshippers at the church were attacked in which a woman was killed and many worshippers sustained injuries as a result of gunshots.

A statement by spokesman of the JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, said, "the JTF troops and Department of State Services (SSS) personnel have arrested six suspected Boko Haram members that were involved in the attack on EYN church in Biu, Biu LGA Borno State, killing some worshippers.

Those arrested are in JTF custody and are being interrogated."
