Angola: CNE Analyses Mechanisms for Voters Information System

Luanda — The National Electoral Commission (CNE) gathered last Thursday in Luanda, a meeting chaired by the institution's chairman, Silva Neto, analysed mechanisms for an information system for those voters who did not update their electoral data for this year's polls.

The CNE spokeswoman, Júlia Ferreira, said to the press on Thursday that through this mechanism the voters will be timely informed about the polling station where they are supposed to cast the ballot.

"This is a fundamental matter to us, having into account that there is a significant number of citizens that did not update their electoral data, that is, they have a voter's card, but they did not update the data in it", she explained.

She also informed that the plenary session equally made an assessment of the civic and electoral education campaign, which started on June 14, as well as made some recommendations and adjustments.

The CNE will meet again on June 25 to analyse other pertinent matters relating to the electoral process.
