Uganda: Nankabirwa Can Actually Dance

WE used to hear Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu, the state minister for fisheries, was once an entertainer during her primary school days, but we never believed it until last week.

Nankabirwa threw a bash for her electorate at Nabwendo Primary School in Muwanga sub-county, Kiboga district and when the entertainers got on stage, she jumped onto stage and held her own, breaking into strokes bordering on Calypso and Funk, an act that elicited ululation from all and sundry.

Then a one Deborah Nabunya, one of Nankabirwa's contemporaries, told us that Nankabirwa, while at Bamusuta Primary School in Kiboga town, used to mesmerise parents and guests during speech days with her dance strokes.

She would walk away with money from appreciative parents. Now we believe what we heard.
