Dodoma — THE speaker of the National Assembly, Ms Anne Makinda on Saturday dismissed Ilemela's Legislator, Mr Highness Kiwia's (Chadema) request to postpone the day's activities to discuss the on-going strike by fishermen in Mwanza.
Ms Makinda who stood up seemingly annoyed following Mr Kiwia's request for guidance vividly crushed the request leaving a number of opposition legislators scoffing. Mr Kiwia said that the fishermen in Mwanza and other areas of Lake Zone were on strike for about three consecutive days following a decision by business people to buy fish at less than half of the current price.
