Somalia: Gunmen Shot Dead Judge in Las'anod, Sool Region

Las' Anod — Assailants in Somalia have shot and killed the attorney general of Sool region for Somaliland administration, making the second judge to be killed in northern Somalia in less that a month.

Unknown gunmen armed with pistols have opened fire on the judge as he was watching Spain vs France match Euro 2012 semi-final at a location in Las'Anod town, the capital city of Sool province in north Somalia.

Mohammed Ali Geesle, the governor of Sool region for Somaliland administration, told Media that security forces are launching heavy search operations to find out the attackers behind the murder.

The grounds and the characteristics of the assassins have not yet been conformed. The town of Las'anoda relatively peaceful area, but has experienced a spark in violence recently, after a land dispute broke out between Puntland, Somaliland and the newly formed Khatumo state of Somalia.
