Sudan: WFP Fails to Deliver Food to IDP Camps in Darfur for Four Months

Khartoum — The World Food Programme (WFP) fails to deliver food to the internally displaced persons (IDP) camp of Zam Zam in North Darfur and the camps of Jeddah, El Jebelayn close to the town of Garsila in Central Darfur.

The IDP camps have not received food rations from the WFP in over 4 months now. IDPs of camp Zam Zam, which lies on the outskirts of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, complain of an hike in food prices as a result. A camp leader of Zam Zam tells Radio Dabanga that the WFP has not been able to deliver food rations to over 800 families.
