Winner of the People's Democratic Party in the January 9, 2011 governorship primary election in Kogi State, Alhaji Jibrin Isah, also known as Echocho has urged his party to stay off his various petitions against Governor Idris Wada, insisting that the best way out is for the party to allow justice and rule of law to prevail in his various petitions currently before the courts.

He said that there was no need for PDP to intervene when judgement is due to be delivered this Friday.

Isah who was reacting to the appeal by Governor Wada of Kogi State for PDP to intervene stated that it was against natural justice for the governor to ask the party to intervene when judgement on his petition is expected on June 29.

Before the emergence of Capt Wada as the governorship candidate of the PDP in the Kogi state governorship election of December 3,2011, Isah was elected the governorship candidate of the party at the January 9, 2011 governorship primary election held at the Lokoja township stadium and was returned as the flag bearer of the party for the April 26,2011 general elections.

But the Court of Appeal ruled that the tenure of five governors, including that of Kogi State had not expired, hence the postponement of the general election in Kogi State and four other States of Adamawa, Bayelsa, Sokoto and Cross River.

However, the Independent National Electoral Commission evoked the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in Appeal No:SC/357/2011 vide its notice of Appeal dated 14th July,2011 asking the court not only to set aside the judgements of the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal elongating the tenure of the Governors but also to dismiss their claim.
