Nigeria: Israeli Envoy Says Nigeria Will Emerge Stronger

Nigeria will soon overcome its present security challenges and emerge stronger, the outgoing Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Moshe Ram, has predicted.

Speaking at a farewell dinner organized for him and the outgoing Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. George Deek in Abuja, Ram said Nigerians should develop the courage and stamina to win what he called "this difficult battle".

"You must win this battle. The people of this country are capable of overcoming these challenges; it is a matter of time and training. Nigerians are skilful and intelligent and you have no option than to win this battle."

Ram, who was posted to Nigeria as Israeli Ambassador in 2007, recalled that in his 37 years in the foreign service, working in Nigeria was one of his most exciting and complicated assignments.

In his remarks, Deek said he has been re-posted to Norway and described Nigeria as a wonderful country with warm and accommodating people.

The farewell dinner was organized by nongovernmental organizations to the State of Israel. They include, Nigeria-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Nigeria-Israel Business Forum, among others.
