Zambia: Mkushi PF to Protest Against MP

THE PF in Mkushi will carry out peaceful demonstrations against alleged defamatory remarks against President Michael Sata by MMD Mkushi South Member of Parliament Sydney Chisanga.

District Secretary Obby Mwimbi has since written to the police officer-in-charge in the area seeking permission on the party's intention.

According to the copy of the notification copied to the Times, Mr Mwimbi said the party was grieved over the remarks by Mr Chisanga and as such it was seeking for permission to carry out peaceful demonstrations on June 27 2012.

"We as the Party in the District are asking your good office to grant us permission to hold a peaceful demonstration following the defamatory statements uttered by the Honorable Member of Parliament for the constituency Mr Sydney Chisanga against the Republican President Mr Sata at the rallies in Mkushi South constituency recently.

"We want to bring it to your attention that, we are very aggrieved and wish to hold a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday 27th June 2012," read the notification.
