Kenya: Kibaki Told to Reject Changes On Poll Law

ODM MPs have told President Kibaki reject the changes to the Election Act passed by parliament on Thursday last week. Nine legislators took issues with the clause allowing parties to nominate losers in the polls and also allowing presidential aspirants to run for other elective posts.

The legislators are Thomas Mwadegu, Otieno Kajwang, Anyang Nyongo, Ayiecho Olweny, Oyugi Magwanga, Fred Outa, Jakoyo Midiwo, Pollyns Ochieng and John Pesa. They said the amendments will rob Kenyans of their constitutional rights.
