Eritrea: Over 30,000 Youths to Participate in the 5th National Youth Festival

Asmara — The NUEYS said that over 30,000 youths residing inside the country and abroad would participate in the 5th National Youth Festival which would be conducted from 13 to 15 July.

Mr. Ibrahim Hassen, chairman of the festival's coordinating committee, explained that Eritrean youths from the Middle East, Europe and North America are expected to take part in the festival, and that some of them have already arrived in the Homeland. He also indicated that the preparations for the event have already been finalized. Better services are expected to be rendered more than ever before, he added.

The NUEYS stated that the aim of the festival is to create a reliable basis for the youth as regards exchanging knowledge and experience, raising political awareness, promoting cultural renaissance and presenting creative works.

Mr. Ibrahim further pointed out that sport contests would also feature in the festival, besides other contests which are being conducted in Asmara in connection with the vent as regards arts, half-marathon race, and cultural show. He also lauded the participation of various institutions and government bodies in the process.
