Residents of Kisaro sector in Rulindo District are thankful to "water for people" a project that has extended clean water in their area.

In order to uplift the living standards of residents, water for people project has distributed water all over Rulindo district starting from Kisaro sector.

"We could make a long distance of three kilometers to access water. Buying it is Rwf100 or Rwf150," says Jean Baptiste Ndungutse, a resident of Kisaro sector.

Ndungutse asserts that having water will help students study well, animals get water and residents will have good life free of poor sanitation related diseases.

Water for people project plans to distribute water to 16545 residents of Rulindo district including four schools and one health centre within four years.

However, the expected time might not be met since the number of residents that had water is 30percent when they expected 56 percent.

Perepetue Kamuyumbo, Director of water for people in Rwanda assures that the project will not exceed 2016. The project is expected to repair the 30 kilometers water pipeline with 25 sources.
