Wa — The General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has described the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a war-monger.
He claimed Nana Addo's infamous 'all die be die' comment points to his position, and advised the youth of the country to reject the NPP, come the 2012 elections.
The NDC chief scribe made this statement at the commissioning of the Upper West Regional Women's wing Office in Wa last Saturday.
He reminded NDC followers and Ghanaians in general, that while the NPP was preaching nothing but violence, the sitting president and the ruling NDC were calling for peace and harmony in the country.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia said a very noble idea like the school feeding programme was misapplied by the NPP when they were in power, and said over 70 percent of the programme was concentrated in the Ashanti Region, with over 70,000 pupils benefitting from it under the NPP regime.
He said the NDC, under President Mills, revised the programme under a retargeting policy, and withdrew about 50,000 pupils away from the Ashanti Region for the benefit of the three northern regions of the country, which had brought massive improvement in the lives of the people.
