Angola: Minister Calls for Analysis of Products Quality, Expiry Dates

Luanda — The Angolan minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries, Afonso Pedro Canga, Tuesday in Luanda, appealed to the consumers when buying any food or drug product to consider first the expiry date and quality.

Speaking to the press, on the occasion of the Regulatory Agency for Food and Pharmaceuticals (ARPAF), Pedro Canga advanced that it is a program of rehabilitation of the infrastructure of agricultural research, which will also be equipped with laboratories.

According to the government official, with the aim of assessing the seeds and the products consumed in Angola, the Ministry of Agriculture has some rehabilitated and built laboratories.

Thus, he said, we have the laboratories of the Veterinary Research Institute in Huambo, Benguela and Huila, the Fisheries Research Institute in Luanda and its centres in the provinces.

"We recently opened a new laboratory in Luanda, the agro-food, which already has a great capacity to undertake analysis of food products," he said.

Referring particularly to the Regulatory Agency for Food and Pharmaceuticals (ARPAF), the official said that with its appearance, there will be more capacity so that we can measure on real-time products that are consumed in Angola.
