Nigeria: Manufacturers Seek Partnership With Power Producers

Lagos — President of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Chief Kola Jamodu has urged Independent Power Producers in the country to partner with individual members of the association on alternative power.

He told our correspondent that the development was necessary in order to ensure that manufacturers in the country have adequate power to run their businesses.

This, he said, will go a long way in reducing their overhead cost and creating jobs for more Nigerians.

Chairman of Electrical Electronic Sectoral Group of MAN, Mr. Roland Odia said recently that manufacturers in Nigeria expend N6.3 billion on diesel annually.

He also said power demand for manufacturers in the country is over 3000MW but they get less than 1000MW.

Meanwhile, MAN has concluded plans to hold its 40th Annual General Meeting on June 28.
