Nigeria: '505 Illicit Drugs Pushers Arrested in Two Years in Katsina'

Katsina — The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested 505 suspected drugs dealers in Katsina State from 2011 to date, the agency's commander in the state, Alhaji Amadu Garba, has said.

Speaking in commemoration of this year's United Nations Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Katsina yesterday, Garba said the agency had seized a total of 1,127.460kgs of illicit drugs from the arrested suspects during the period under review, saying 81 suspects were convicted to various jail terms, while 89 cases were still pending at the Federal High Court, Katsina.
