Nigeria: Akande Links Insecurity to Poverty, Injustice

Uyo — Nigeria needs to eliminate poverty and social injustice to tackle the current security challenges, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has said.

National chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, in his goodwill message yesterday at the on-going 2012 Senate retreat in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, said, "if we search deeply, Nigeria today seems to be facing a precarious security situation due to lack of equity and justice. The ill effects of years of electoral manipulation, social injustice and mass poverty converge into and form a cauldron of unrest".
