Rwanda Agriculture Board and Rwanda Environment Management Authority have introduced climate change programs to conserve the environment.
The project that aims at dealing with climate change risks covers four cells in Kanama sector of Rubavu district Western province.
The project that aims at lifting residents from poverty, through employing them also helps them to fight malnutrition and soil erosion.
In Kanama sector of Rubavu district, LDCF will work on 635 hectares of land in Nkomane, Yungwe, Kamuhoza and Musabike cells.
Rusanganwa Gatana, head of LDCF and RAB employee, says that 156 forest trees, 3.3 alnus type trees, trees that grow within crops, grass, 478 plum trees, 212 avocado trees will be planted in addition to bamboo trees that will be planted on the lake sides.
