Liberia: NUDP Convention Backfires

Controversy and stiff opposition have greeted last week's convention of the National Union for Democratic Progress or NUDP held in Ganta, Nimba County under the watchful eyes of the party's political leader Senator Prince Y. Johnson, boycotted by several senior party executives.

The Ganta Convention, boycotted by Party Chairman Gbawou Kowou, National Secretary General Gontee Meddrices, National Chairlady Madam Rebecca Teah and others, elected several new leaders of the party, including Cornelius Porte, National Chairman; Melee I. L. Kermue, National Vice Chair for Administration; Baccus G. Zeh, National Vice Chair for Recruitment & Mobilization, and Garrison Yelue, Secretary General.
