The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has signed a memorandum of understanding for $2.3 million with International Finance Corporation to increase insurance coverage, acting Executive Secretary of the scheme, Dr Abdulrahman Sambo has said.
He said the memo would see NHIS providing 40 percent of the amount to fund short term coverage. He noted that 60 percent balance would come from IFC and help NHIS increase its capacity for health coverage for more Nigerians due to increasing demands for NHIS coverage.
