Kenya: Court to View Clips in Kirima's Estate Dispute

VIDEO clips allegedly showing former Starehe MP Gerishon Kirima giving instructions on how his vast estate will be distributed among his family members will be played in court. Justice Isaac Lenaola yesterday allowed the warring children of the former assistant minister who died in December 2010, to each play the clips which were allegedly recorded before his death. Each side claims to have the backing of video clips to prove that the will they have tabled in court is valid.

There are two wills, one from his third wife Teresia Wairimu and another by children from Kirima's first and second wives. Either side is contesting the will of the rival family members. The children allege that their father recorded the final will while in UK where he had been taken for treatment, a few days before his death. They informed Justice Lenaola that they will prove Kirima was in his right mental status when he dictated how he wished his property shared among his family.
