Rwanda: Nsengimana Seeks London Qualification in Belfort

Rwanda's Theoneste Nsengimana is among elite athletes who will be participating in Belfort Championship in bid to snatch minimum requirements needed for him to compete in the Summer Olympics due in London later this year.

Nsengimana is expected to compete in 400 T-46 and 1500m T-46 in Belfort's competition meant for handicapped athletes.

His personal time best is 4:14 seconds attained at the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique last year but he has to ran under 4:18 to ensure that he qualifies for London.

Nsengimana is expected to face challenge from mainly European athletes.

If the 23-year old qualifies for London, he will join his colleagues who have already qualified such as the national sitting volleyball team, Theogene Hakizimana in power lifting category Hermas Cliff Muvunyi who will be running 400m T-46 and 800m T-46 respectively.
