Nigeria: FG Seeks Peaceful Nuclear Technology

President Goodluck Jonathan said the pursuit of nuclear technology by the federal government is only for peaceful purposes.

Speaking yesterday at the commissioning of the Researchers' Hostel and Conference Centre built by the National Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), Jonathan said it has become necessary for the country's development to acquire nuclear technology.

In his speech earlier, Chairman of the NAEC, Dr. Franklin Osaisai, said within the six years of the activation of the commission, a National Nuclear Power Roadmap has been developed to strategize the country's power capacity.
