Egypt Summons UAE Ambassador On Dubai Police Chief Statements

The Foreign Ministry summoned the UAE ambassador in Cairo to ask him to clarify statements given by Dubai Police Chief Dahi Khalfan on the new Egyptian president and the country's political conditions.

Such statements do not reflect the good ties binding the two countries, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Amr Roshdi.

Dubai Police Chief Dahi Khalfan has been accused of making anti Egyptian comments.

The highest levels of the UAE leaderships have already welcomed the outcome of the Egyptian first democratic presidential elections in the aftermath of the January 25th Revolution, said Roshdi.
