Egypt: Protests in Alexandria in Solidarity With Tahrir

Hundreds marched from Alexandria's al-Qa'ed Ibrahim mosque headed to the Northern military area in Sidi Gaber to call for full transfer of power and denounce the complementary constitutional declaration issued by the ruling Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF).

Protesters chanted anti-SCAF slogans and demanded giving president-elect Mohamed Mursi the full powers that the constitutional declaration diminished.

A number of political powers participated in the protest including the Muslim Brotherhood, Nour Party and April 6 movement.

Sheikh Ahmed al-Mahallawi, Imam of al-Qa'ed Ibrahim mosque, called on the military council to take a lesson from Mubarak and respond to the demands of the people.
