Juba — South Sudan is proposing cutting the numbers of government and elected officials by 40% in a bid to reduce the public spending as the country faces a severe economic crisis.
As a result of the shutdown of oil production earlier this year and the loss of it unique source of revenue following a bitter row with Khartoum, Juba is considering to implement austerity measures to avoid the collapse of its economy.
