Angola: Vice-President Bids Farewell to Athletes Competing in Olympic Games

Luanda — The Vice-president of the Republic, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, presented on Saturday here farewell greetings to the Angolan delegations that will participate in London2012 Olympics and Paralympics Games during an act that happened at Luanda's downtown.

London2012 Olympics and Paralympics Games will take place on 27 July-12 August and 27 August- 9 September, respectively.

In representation of the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, the official handed over the national flag to the standard-bearer for Paralympics Games, the disable runner, Maria da Silva.

Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos also handed over the national flag to the standard-berear for the opening ceremony of the Olympics Games, the athlete Antónia de Fátima "Faia", and then he saluted individually the athletes of both delegations.

The ceremony was attended by politicians, sport official former athletes, athletes from the two delegations, journalists and guests.
