Nigeria: Drama as Benin Monarch Receives Jonathan in Camera

There was a mild drama Saturday at the palace of the Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa, as President Goodluck Jonathan went to pay homage to the monarch during his visit to the state for a Peoples Democratic Party campaign rally ahead of the July 14 governorship election.

Jonathan, who arrived the Benin airport about 11.45am, had proceeded to the Oba's palace. In his entourage were the PDP national chairman, Alhaji Bamangar Tukur, former Board of Trustees chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, the party's governorship candidate,
