Dodoma — THE Government has agreed on usage of steel yard scales in purchasing cotton in the 2012/13 season following a meeting of cotton stakeholders held on June 26, 2012.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Trade and Industry, the Minister for Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives, Mr Christopher Chiza told the National Assembly that the scales would be gradually phased out. He also said that the steel yard scales to be used must be inspected by the Weights and Measures Agency.
