Tunisia: National Guard Patrol and Gunmen Exchange Fire on Border

Medenine — "Fire was exchanged, on Sunday evening on the Tunisian-Libyan border, between a National Guard patrol and an armed group," a security source said, on Monday.

The same source assumed that "the gunmen are Libyan," without further elaborating whether these people were smugglers or committing other illegal activities, pointing out that the group had turned tail, without causing any victim.

In another connection, a security source said that the Libyan authorities arrested the person who had ordered, last Wednesday, to fire at the Tunisian fishing boat, killing her captain.
