Nigeria: Church Denies Links With Ogboni Confraternity

Ado-Ekiti — The Christ Fire and Miracles Ministries (CFM) worldwide yesterday denied an allegation that its late founder, Pastor Tayo Oseromi, belonged to the Ogboni Fraternity, saying the allegation was aimed at smearing the image of the late pastor.

Briefing newsmen on preparations for the burial of the late pastor, a senior pastor of the church, Pastor Jonathan Ajayi, described the late pastor as an upright, reliable and faithful Christian leader. He said those peddling rumours that he belonged to Ogboni are "day-dreaming." "The rumour is a calculated attempt by enemies and detractors who are jealous of the way God used the leader," he said. The late CFM founder died on June 12 at the Federal Medical Centre, Ido Ekiti after a brief illness at the age of 44.
