Nigeria: 'Army Not Responsible for Stranded Soldiers in Darfur'

Kaduna — Army authorities yesterday said the Nigerian Army was not responsible for the fate of the currently stranded peace-keeping troop in Darfur as it was not its responsibility to evacuate soldiers to and from the mission area.

Commandant of the Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre, Major General John Samuel Zaruwa, said the troops were taken to Darfur by the United Nations and were supposed to be brought back by same.
