Nigeria: VP Sambo Attends Burundi's 50th Independence Day Anniversary

Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo today Monday, July 1, attended Burundi's 50th Independence Anniversary celebration.

The event, which was held in the country's capital Bujumbura hosted many dignitaries from across Africa, Europe and Asia, which included head of states and presidents of African countries and representatives from other countries. Nigeria was given special recognition at the event.

The event was full of activities, which included cultural displays, march pass and parades, showcasing of various military arsenals, equipments, aerial displays and combat readiness tactics. Distinguished personalities including some past and present African leaders also received national honour awards from President Pierre Nkukurunziza Ndikemana of Burundi.

Arc Sambo was also at the Nigeria Embassy in Bujumbura, where he met with members of the Nigerian community in the country.

The vice president was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nuruddeen Muhammad amongst others.
