Rundu — A 30-year-old female was raped twice in six hours by two adult males in Rundu's Ndama informal settlement on Monday evening and yesterday morning.
The woman, whose identity cannot be revealed at this stage, was raped between 23h00 and 00h00 on Monday and yesterday around 05h00 by the suspects.
With details of the incident still sketchy at this point, it is alleged that the woman was raped in a house belonging to one of the suspects.
The Rundu police have since launched a manhunt for the two adult male suspects.
Acting Regional Crime Investigation Coordinator, Inspector Chrispin Mubebo, confirmed the incident.
According to Mubebo, although the suspects are known to the police, they are yet to be arrested.
"The case was reported this morning [Tuesday] and, as we speak, the police are busy with investigations. More information will be made public depending on the investigations," Mubebo said.
In an unrelated incident that occurred on Sunday in the Mukwe Constituency, about 180 kilometres east of Rundu, two male suspects, Martin Kambathi (27) and David John (18) were arrested for having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old under coersive circumstances.
The girl was raped in her room at around 02h00 on Sunday morning by the two, at Bushbaby in the village of Mutjiku. Both suspects are from Mutjiku in the Mukwe Constituency.
