In his evidence-in-chief, the witness said he recognised the accused, who, according to him, was born in their neighbourhood. He said on the night of 8th October, 2011 he saw someone on his corridor holding a torchlight going towards his bedroom, and when he got up to find out who the individual was, he saw the accused Samba Bah running into the toilet. "I rushed and grabbed him by the shirt but he escaped and I hit the burglar proof and sustained injuries on my nose," he said.
