Luanda — A farewell ceremony in honour of the national athletics team expected to take part in London2012 Paralympics in England, will be held Friday in Luanda, Angop has learnt.
According to the Secretary General of Paralympics Committee, António da Luz, the meeting is a joint organization of this institution and the sponsor of the Angolan delegation to the event, the British Petroleum (BP-Angola).
The national team, whose main reference is José Sayovo (three gold medals and an equal number of silver), embarks on 12 July to Portugal for the penultimate training and on August 4 bound for the local competition, to conduct final preparation.
London2012 games mark the 5th presence of Angola in Paralympics since the debut in Atlanta1996, followed Sydney2000, Athens2004 and Beijing/2008.
