Sierra Leone: Sorghor Shines in UMEA Win - as Player Scoops 'Man of the Match'

Sierra Leone's young midfielder, Ibrahim Sorghor Kallay on Monday put up an outstanding display to help his side Umea defeat Landskrona 3-1 in the Swedish Superettan league.

The former Kallon FC midfielder who came on as a substitute replacing H. Bohman just after 20 minutes of play saw his terrific performance aid Umea to secure their first home win of the year. The performance handed him the 'Man of the Match' award.

It was the young midfielder's fourth game for the club since joining them few months back from Kallon FC but he is now eyeing more playing time and help the club escape relegation. He said: "I was very delighted with my performance and for winning the 'Man of the Match' award. This is a turning point for me in the team and I believe they will consider giving me more playing time."

Despite the win, Umea are still in the relegation zone lying 15th in the league table with 10 points from 15 matches played. Kallay's fellow countryman and teammate, Mohamed Kamanor, also enjoyed full time action in the match.

Elsewhere in Sweden, Sierra Leonean striker Alhassan 'Crespo' Kamara was introduced in the 88th minute replacing Quaison as his side AIK suffered a 4-0 defeat away to Malmo FF.

In Finland, midfielder Hassan Sesay only enjoyed 46 minutes of action in his side, Mypa's 1-1 away draw to HJK Helsinki, whilst countryman Obi Metzger's side Haka secured a 1-0 home win over TPS despite failing to find the net. Metzger got his name in the referee's book as he was cautioned in the 65th minute before he was replaced by Luoto in the 85th minute.
