Nigeria: Taraba Safe for Corps Members - NYSC

Jalingo — Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Taraba State, Hajiya Zainab Isah, has assured of the safety of corps members posted to the state. Isah said the NYSC, state government and relevant security agencies have put adequate measures in place to safeguard the lives of corps members.

Hajiya Zainab, who gave the assurance at the swearing-in-ceremony of the 2012 Batch "B" orientation course, said one of such measures include fencing of the temporary orientation camp to enhance the security of the premises. She said more than 2,000 corps members have reported to camp, adding, "Coming toTaraba State is by no means an accident. It behoves you to use the period of the orientation course to equip yourselves towards impacting on the state".

Speaking earlier, chairman of the NYSC governing board in the state, Alhaji Abdulhadi Haruna Lau, urged the corps members to take advantage of the skills acquisition programme which was recently introduced to the orientation course content to create meaningful impact.
